A friend of mine, who wants to be known only by the alias Charles Frost, has recently started a new site called Fake Rumors – a site dedicated to revealing the most absurd untruths ever. For example, did you know that China is planning to replace the Great Wall, or that airlines will replace sick bags with douchebags?
The site was launched just a few days ago, and I’m helping him out with the hosting and also writing a few articles for it.
FakeRumors is a lame attempt at being humorous. It is a bad knockoff of The Onion (http://www.theonion.com/). If the site was just a collection of false rumors, it MIGHT be interesting.
The “articles” on “Will Obama rename the White House?” and “a bag of rice…” are good examples of poor writing, no humor and a waste of my life. Yes, it was my decision to waste my life reading the articles. I was hoping that the more articles I read, I may find the spark of potential. No such luck.
My assumption is that this is written by someone who was not let on their high school newspaper writing staff and has finally found a venue where no one can ban them from writing.
My advice, skip it.
Bill
