Today is a glorious day! The IE team have reversed their previous decision with regards to forcing web developers to opt-in to the latest standards mode. IE8’s standards mode will now be the default standards mode, and web developers wanting their pages to continue rendering in IE7 mode will need to opt-in to that mode specifically using the meta element or HTTP header:
