{"id":65,"date":"2005-03-15T09:57:58","date_gmt":"2005-03-15T09:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lachy.id.au\/log\/2005\/03\/65"},"modified":"2006-04-30T23:46:39","modified_gmt":"2006-04-30T23:46:39","slug":"nonofollow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lachy.id.au\/log\/2005\/03\/nonofollow","title":{"rendered":"NoNoFollow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I came across this interesting wiki today, called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonofollow.net\/\">NoNoFollow \u2013 Fight Spam, Not Blogs<\/a>, via a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.micropersuasion.com\/2005\/03\/technorati_sees.html#c4359103\">comment in <cite>Technorati Sees Blogspam Rising<\/cite><\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.micropersuasion.com\/\">Steve Rubel<\/a> \u2013 An interesting article claming that spam is on the rise through blogs themselves, not just their comments.  This just proves that <code>nofollow<\/code> did not meet it&#8217;s objective to prevent comment spam, it may have just increased it in other ways!<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The 12 arguments currently presented in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonofollow.net\/\">NoNoFollow wiki<\/a> aren\u2019t quite as persuasive as <a href=\"\/log\/2005\/01\/link-relationships-revisited-part-1\" title=\"Link Relationships Revisited, Part 1\">mine<\/a>, but the site does show some promise.  Since it\u2019s a wiki, anyone can edit it and I will do my part to improve it later.
