Well, sadly, those names didn&#8217;t work out and I got overruled :-(.  We ended up holding a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2002\/09\/wbs\/38482\/selectorsNames\/results\">Working Group vote to resolve the issue<\/a> and, as a result, a new set of names were chosen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/public-webapi\/2007Aug\/0066.html\">winners were announced<\/a> just over a week ago: <code>querySelector()<\/code> and <code>querySelectorAll()<\/code>.
